Aunt Marion and Cousin Mimi




From 1982 to 1988, photographers Suzanne Winterberger and Martha Friend collaborated
on this series of humorous black and white photo postcards chronicling the lives and loves
of two eccentric middle-aged ladies. Suzanne played Aunt Marion; Martha played Cousin Mimi.
The two ended the series after their real lives began coming a bit too close to their fictional counterparts.
Twenty years later, reality has far surpassed art, and the duo has embarked on a cleaning binge.
